Rodong Sinmun Tuesday observes in a signed commentary in this regard:

This is a blatant challenge to the DPRK which has made sincere efforts for peace and durable peace mechanism on the Korean Peninsula and a premeditated hostile act against it to drive the situation to the brink of a war.

At the confab the brasshats of the south Korean military busied themselves to justify their moves to escalate confrontation with the DPRK and provoke a war of aggression against it while joining their U.S. master in making such oft-repeated sophism as "threat" from someone and "security". This deceptive farce, however, will get them nowhere.

The moves of the U.S. and the warmongers of the south Korean military for confrontation and war have gone beyond the danger line.

The south Korean war-like forces made extremely provocative outbursts for a "preemptive attack" on the DPRK and mapped out a scenario for invading the north to cope with "emergency situation" from the outset of this year. Not content with this, they had the dangerous war confab at the "meeting on security policy initiative". This goes to prove that they are set to go against the desire of the fellow countrymen for independent reunification, peace and prosperity this year, too.

The south Korean and U.S. bellicose forces' war hysteria reminds one of a new born puppy knowing no fear of a tiger as it is a foolish self-destruction little short of jumping into fire with faggot on one's back.

The DPRK loves peace and does not want war but will make merciless thousand-fold retaliatory strikes at those who desperately try to hurt it.

The south Korean authorities had better behave themselves, clearly understanding that their moves to escalate confrontation with the DPRK and provoke a war in collusion with outsiders would only bring disgraceful self-destruction.
