Paektusan Secret Camp Meeting Held
Pyongyang, February 11 (KCNA) -- A meeting to vow resolution took place in front of the Paektusan Secret Camp, sacred place of revolution, on Thursday on the occasion of February 16, birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Attending the meeting were Choe Thae Bok, Kim Jong Gak, Kim Ki Nam and Kim Il Chol, leading officials of the party and armed forces organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, servicepersons of the Korean People's Army, members of the 618 Construction Shock Brigade and working people in Ryanggang Province.

Made at the meeting were speeches of faith and resolution to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche started on Mt. Paektu under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il.

Choe Thae Bok, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and secretary of the C.C., the WPK, said the army and people of the DPRK could make steady advance along the road of independence and Songun, blessed with the illustrious leaders generation after generation, and the WPK demonstrate its might as the glorious party of President Kim Il Sung and epochal changes be made in the building of a rich and powerful country, thanks to the birth of Kim Jong Il as the son of the legendary guerillas possessed of the spirit of Mt. Paektu.

He underlined the need for all the party members and other working people to create a new speed of advance of a great surge at every site for an economic power, cherishing the joint calls released by the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the WPK on the occasion of its 65th anniversary.

KPA General Kim Jong Gak, member of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and first deputy director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, stressed that the servicepersons of the KPA will become vanguard fighters of Songun revolution, human bombs and bullets and death defying corps who firmly trust and follow only the Supreme Commander of the KPA and devotedly defend the headquarters of the revolution despite whatever storm and stress.

Ri Yong Chol, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, underlined the need for the young people to make a breakthrough toward charge in the most difficult and labor consuming fields of socialist construction to erect more monumental edifices of eternal value and become young heroes glorifying the era of a great surge.

Then, poem "Bright Star" written by Kim Il Sung was recited.

Fireworks of celebrating the February holiday were displayed in the sky above the Paektusan Secret Camp amid high praises of the great man and stormy cheers of all the attendants rocked heaven and earth.
