The statement said that Songun Korea has won victory after victory, remaining undeterred by all sorts of challenges of the imperialists and manifold trials as it is led by Kim Jong Il, an outstanding statesman and iron-willed commander, and greeted a new heyday in building a thriving socialist nation.

It stressed that the immortal feats of Kim Jong Il would remain shining forever as he has developed Kim Il Sung's Korea high in dignity thanks to the Juche idea and the Songun politics into an invulnerable socialist fortress, independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence, and wisely led mankind's just cause of independence against imperialism and global peace.
