Attending it were Ho Jong Man, chief vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), and other officials of Chongryon and other compatriots and youth and students in Japan.

Ho Jong Man in a report said that the revolutionary history of Kim Jong Il is an immortal history in which he has led the revolution and construction only to victory true to the noble intention of President Kim Il Sung and an ennobling history of believing in people as in Heaven in which he has brought happiness to the people of the homeland.

Recalling that last year the homeland greeted an exciting era when people's ideal was materialized thanks to the undying Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il, the reporter praised him as the destiny of all Koreans, a symbol of victory and a creator of happiness.

He reiterated the determination of the Koreans in Japan to cherish the firmer faith that they are sure to emerge victorious under the leadership of Kim Jong Il and advance along the road of patriotism full of conviction and hope for the future of the homeland, always remembering the loving care shown by him for them.

The officials of Chongryon will breathe the same breath with the people in the homeland who are bringing about a leap forward in their drive to build a thriving nation under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il and lay an overall foundation for bringing about a new era in the movement of Koreans in Japan this year, thus making a signal turn in intensifying the patriotic movement.

A congratulatory message to Kim Jong Il from the Chongryon Central Standing Committee was adopted at the meeting.

An art performance "Song of General Kim Jong Il Resounding in Alien Land" was given at the hall of Joson University of Chongryon on Feb. 9.
