At the rally speakers accused the authorities of egging the prosecution, police and conservative media onto fabricate all sorts of "charges" against the DLP and progressive organizations in a bid to crack down upon them and, at the same time, resorting to violence after misleading public opinion.

What remains to be done in the south Korean society at present is to force the present regime to step down as early as possible, they held, declaring that they would boost solidarity with the people from all walks of life in order to put an end to the authorities' repressive rule and protect the progressive forces.
