Concert Given to Celebrate Lunar New Year
Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- The concert of the Unhasu Orchestra for celebrating the lunar New Year is going on at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre before full house.

It was appreciated by state officials, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of party and armed forces organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions and working people in the city on Tuesday.

Among the audience were congratulatory groups of overseas compatriots, overseas Koreans, the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front, diplomatic envoys of different countries and representatives of international organizations here and foreign guests.

The repertoire of the concert included narration and music "The Night Seeing 2009 Out", mixed chorus "Let's Drink a Toast," female sextet and chorus "Greeting Spring on Jong Il Peak", male solo and chorus "Mt. Paektu, Cradle of Revolution".

The performers warmly praised the leadership feats of Kim Jong Il who brought about the great changes noteworthy in the history of building a thriving nation through his intensive forced march.

Female sextet "Yangsando", female solo "Beautiful Native Place", saxophone sextet "Song of Sliced Radish Kimchi" and other numbers made the audience replete with national emotion.

Female solo and chorus "Fly High, Chollima of Songun Korea", narration and music "Push Back the Frontiers of Science" and "Thriving Nation Is in Sight" and other numbers well represented the strong spirit of the Korean people dynamically advancing toward the hopeful future, in which the might of a thriving socialist nation is displayed, loudly singing the song of revolution and struggle.
