The bedrooms of various sizes and styles, restaurants, a theater, a banquet hall and a swimming pool and other cultural and public service facilities of the modern Hyangsan Hotel have been renovated on the best level. This is another laudable structure renovated under a far-reaching plan of General Secretary Kim Jong Il who regards it as his lifelong maxim to believe in people as in Heaven.

The soldier-builders worked such astonishing miracle as successfully completing the vast project of carrying out the renovation in an area of more than 40,000 square meters in a short span of time by giving full play to the revolutionary soldier spirit.

The renovation of the hotel in Mt. Myohyang, a major tourist destination, as the best hotel made it possible to provide excellent conditions for lodging and cultural life to the visitors.

A ceremony took place on the spot on Wednesday.

Present there were Kim Yong Chun, vice-chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and minister of the People's Armed Forces, Kim Jong Gak, member of the NDC of the DPRK and first vice-director of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People's Army, Ri Yong Ho, chief of the General Staff of the KPA, and other commanding officers of the army and armed forces organs and Secretaries of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea Choe Thae Bok and Kim Ki Nam, department directors and first vice department directors and other leading officials of the C.C., the WPK, officials concerned and employees of the hotel.

Choe Thae Bok said in a speech made at the ceremony that the hotel modernly renovated as required by the new century is crystal of the ceaseless great loving care shown by Kim Jong Il for the people.

He recalled that Kim Jong Il, who has worked heart and soul to provide the people with the best things, personally initiated the above-said project, though very busy with steering the drive for building a thriving nation, and wisely led the work to turn the hotel into the best hotel.

Thanks to his energetic leadership and meticulous care, the soldier- builders worked such an astonishing miracle as renovating the hotel as a laudable monumental edifice in the Songun era in a matter of less than four months, the speaker noted.

Fully reflected in the slogan "We Serve the People!" are the steadfast will and resolution of the WPK to devote everything to the people's happiness, placing their interests above anything else, he said, calling upon the employees of the hotel to bear in mind the heavy mission to serve the people and steadily improve the service so that they may more fully benefit from Kim Jong Il's profound loving care.

At the end of the ceremony, the participants looked round the exterior and interior of the magnificent and fashionable hotel.
