February Holiday Celebrated in Nepal, Bangladesh and S. Africa

Pyongyang, February 18 (KCNA) -- Seminars, photo exhibitions and film shows took place in Nepal, Bangladesh and South Africa on Feb. 5 and 8 to celebrate the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il. Displayed at the venues of the events were works of Kim Jong Il, books and photos on the Korean people's struggle. Present there were personages and people from all walks of life of the relevant countries. The vice-chairman of the Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Committee of Nepal and other speakers referred to the fact that the Korean people have gained signal achievements in the struggle for building a thriving nation and reunifying the country while repulsing all sorts of imperialists' challenges under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il, saying that all this is a good example for the people aspiring after independence. The advisor to the Bangladesh Barisal Society for the Study of Songun Policy said in his speech that it is the greatest fortune and honor for the Korean people to hold in high esteem Kim Jong Il who has creditably carried to completion the revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered by President Kim Il Sung and that Kim Jong Il has pursued a unique Songun politics to frustrate the imperialist allied forces' moves against the DPRK and firmly defend the sovereignty and dignity of the country. The chairperson of the Mahlambandlophy, Pretoria City, Branch of the African National Congress of South Africa addressed the film show. He said that Kim Jong Il has made an energetic long journey of patriotic devotion only for the happiness of the people, adding that it is thanks to his wise guidance that the Korean people have wrought world-startling miracles in the building of an economic power. A congratulatory message to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the event in Nepal. |
