The period since the publication of the June 15 joint declaration witnessed the mounting compatriotic atmosphere, an exceptionally great zeal of the Koreans for reunification and patriotism and landmark achievements in the reunification movement.

This goes to prove that the above-said idea is in line with the aspiration of the Koreans and the need of the times.

It is one of the immortal exploits performed by Kim Jong Il that he advanced the idea acceptable to every member of the Korean nation and the great preposition reflecting the requirements of the history of the nation as an idea guiding the times, providing a bright prospect for accomplishing the cause of national reunification, the cause of great national unity.

A lot of difficulties and trials are still lying in the way of national reunification but the cause of national reunification is sure to triumph thanks to the idea of "By our nation itself" and the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.
