The speakers at the press conference accused the U.S. and south Korean war-like forces of planning to stage the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises throughout south Korea from March 8 to 18 involving huge armed forces. They branded this as an undisguised threat to the north.

The aggressive nature of this saber-rattling is becoming clearer as it is pursuant to "OPLAN 5027", the scenario to mount a preemptive attack on the north, in particular, they noted, adding:

Through this action the U.S. and the present authorities of south Korea disclosed themselves that they have, in actuality, no will to opt for building a peace-keeping regime on the Korean Peninsula, though they are paying lip-service to "peace".

They demanded a prompt cancellation of the plan to stage large-scale joint military exercises which will only strain the situation on the peninsula.
