Story of Kim Il Sung

Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- In May Juche 61 (1972) President Kim Il Sung provided field guidance to the Oryu Co-op Farm in Sadong District, Pyongyang. He looked at fields abundant with spring cabbage and radish as well as spinach with satisfaction and then turned his eyes to the opposite field on the ridge. Some peasants were tilling the field with the help of draught oxen. He felt sorry to find an old trace of farm work from them. He summoned an official of the farm to ask how many hectares a draught ox ploughed a day, how many draught oxen, tractors and lorries it had and how much cultivated acreage it owned. Having calculated with the official the number of tractors needed to replace the oxen, the President estimated even the amount of fuel proper to the farm's area under tillage, vehicles and volume of traffic. Back from the field guidance he sent many tractors and various kinds of farming machines to the farm. That year the farm reaped the richest vegetable harvest ever known in the area. |
