Kim Jong Il's Birthday Celebrated at DPRK Missions
Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- Receptions, friendly gatherings, book and photo exhibitions and film shows were held at the DPRK embassies in Havana, Vientiane, Dhaka, Phnom Penh, Katmandu, Kuwait City, Singapore, Rome, Berlin, Prague, Bucharest, Sofia, Stockholm, Cairo, Addis Ababa and Brasilia and at the consulates general in Shenyang and Nakhodka from Feb. 5 to 15 on the occasion of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's birthday.

Displayed in the venues of events were works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and photos on the immortal feats performed by them and books and photos showing the advantages and invincible might of Korean-style socialism centered on the popular masses.

Present there on invitation were personages of various strata and others and officials of the DPRK missions in the relevant countries.

Speeches were made at the events.

The joint general secretary of the Central Committee of the Awami League of Bangladesh praised Kim Jong Il as an outstanding leader who has wisely led the overall work of the Party, state and army, reinforcing the DPRK as an invulnerable fortress of socialism.

The advisor to the prime minister of Cambodia said:

The DPRK is not a big country but no big powers dare provoke it because Kim Il Sung and
Kim Jong Il thoroughly adhered to the Songun idea and line. The DPRK successfully launched satellites and conducted underground nuclear tests entirely by its own efforts and with its own technology, a clear proof of its tremendous national power.

The general secretary of the Movement for Peace and Socialism of Italy stressed that the Korean people are sure to build a thriving nation in the near future as long as they are guided by Kim Jong Il.

The participants of the film shows watched Korean films such as "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation" and "The Tower of the Juche Idea."
