The chairperson of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Germany was elected chairperson of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to introduce the undying feats of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il through media and hold colorful political and cultural events on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.
