The meeting was attended by representatives of nearly 40 youth and student organizations from more than 30 countries including member organizations of the General Council of the WFDY.

A political statement adopted at the meeting said:

The WFDY extends firm solidarity to the Korean people in their efforts to bring about a new phase in the struggle for independent reunification by meeting all challenges of the anti-reunification forces and accelerating the grand nationwide march for reunification by the concerted efforts of the nation under the banner of the north-south joint declaration.

The WFDY calls upon its all member organizations and friendly organizations to conduct widespread international solidarity activities to see the Armistice Agreement replaced by a peace treaty and urge the withdrawal of the U.S. imperialist aggressor troops from south Korea and the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea this year marking the lapse of 60 years since the outbreak of the Korean War.

The 2010 action plan adopted at the meeting stressed the need to positively conduct activities supporting the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea on the occasions of the 10th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, the lapse of 60 years since the outbreak of the Korean War, the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Korea, etc.
