Leading newspapers Tuesday stress this in editorials carried on the occasion of the tree-planting day.

On March 2, Juche 35 (1946) President Kim Il Sung, together with leader Kim Jong Il and anti-Japanese heroine Kim Jong Suk, mounted Moran Hill and gave precious teachings to spruce up the mountains and fields of the country. This was a significant event as it ushered in a new history of tree-planting in Korea, Rodong Sinmun says, and goes on:

The Workers' Party of Korea put forward the revolutionary policy for turning the whole country into a thick woodland and greenery by launching the forestation in a fresh way from the 2000s and has wisely led the drive for implementing it.

In recent years the brisk tree-planting campaign has been conducted with the participation of all the people to make great progress in forestation and turn many towns and villages, factories and the countryside into a socialist fairyland. This is a precious fruition of the energetic leadership of
Kim Jong Il.

All the Party members and other working people should turn out and devote their patriotic mind to the spring tree-planting drive, thus bringing about a new turn in forestation this significant year.
