Pyongyang, March 2 (KCNA) -- One day in February Juche 96 (2007) General Secretary Kim Jong Il gave officials instructions concerning the improvement of the people's dietary life, when he mentioned jangajji (soy-sauced sliced vegetables). He told them that jangajji is one of the popular foodstuffs relished by the Koreans from olden times and that all the families of the country used to prepare it in the past, but the custom seems to be rare in recent years. He went on to say if vegetables are processed in an industrial way to be supplied to people, it would help improve their dietary life and lighten their household burden. He also said measures should be taken to produce kimchi, jangajji and other daily vegetable food at factories. He then righted their idea of considering only such things as salt, soysauce and soybean paste to be essential foodstuffs, saying that jangajji should also been included in them. |
