Pyongyang, March 3 (KCNA) -- In order to defend the destiny of the Korean nation and realize the peaceful reunification of the country, it is necessary to wage staunch struggle against the moves of the bellicose forces at home and abroad for aggression and war under the uplifted banner of peace against war. Rodong Sinmun Wednesday stresses this in a signed article. It goes on: Holding high the banner of peace against a war is a vital issue related to the destiny of the Koreans and the prospect of the cause of reunification. It also presents itself as the very urgent issue in improving the inter-Korean relations and promoting national reconciliation and cooperation at present. The Korean nation has been exposed to the constant threat of a war for more than six decades by the ceaseless moves of the U.S. and south Korean bellicose forces for an aggression against the DPRK. Some time ago, the warlike forces of the U.S. and the south Korean military announced that they would stage dangerous Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises, a blatant challenge to the aspiration and desire of all the Koreans for peace and security of the Korean Peninsula and the improvement of the inter-Korean relations. All the Koreans should wage a nationwide dynamic struggle to frustrate their moves to escalate confrontation and launch a war, rallied close under the said banner in order to ease tension and ensure durable peace on the peninsula and improve the inter-Korean relations. The whole of south Korea should be alive with the mounting spirit for peace against war and loud voices for defence of peace should be heard from wherever Koreans live. All the Koreans at home and abroad should bring about a decisive turn in the improvement of the inter-Korean relations and the national reunification movement this year which marks the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Korea under the uplifted banner of peace against a war. |
