This has laid a solid foundation for drastically increasing steel production of the complex, further developing the metal industry of the country and contributing to the improvement of the people's standard of living.

A commissioning ceremony took place on Wednesday.

Present there were Hong Sok Hyong, chief secretary of the North Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, O Su Yong, vice-premier, officials concerned, officials and employees of the complex and builders of the Chongjin Metal Construction Complex.

At the ceremony a message of thanks of the Central Committee of the WPK was conveyed to the builders, designers, technicians and officials who performed labor feats in putting the said process on modern lines.
