Speakers said at the meeting that March 1 is the historic day the Koreans groaning at the point of the bayonet of the Japanese imperialists fought for the sovereignty and independence. They called for achieving the peace, reunification and prosperity of the nation, carrying forward the spirit of independence displayed by them that day.

They said that all the compatriots are faced with the tasks to achieve national reconciliation and hand down a reunified country to posterity.

Noting that the compatriots in the south and the north are the one nation that cannot live, divided into two, they called for putting an early end to the division of the country and demonstrating the spirit of the nation.

They declared that all the compatriots would get united to comprehensively escalate the actions to thoroughly implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, achieve independent reunification and hold in check Japan's moves for the revival of militarism.
