The officials and workers of the complex replaced all the existing production processes with new ones and put the vinalon production process on CNC basis, thus completing huge modernization project in a matter of two years.

Present at the ceremony were Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Thae Jong Su, chief secretary of the South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, and officials, workers and technicians of the complex and relevant units.

74 persons were awarded the title of Labour Hero of the DPRK and gold medal (hammer and sickle) and Order of the National Flag 1st Class and seven persons honorary titles.

Watches bearing the august name of President Kim Il Sung were conferred on 27 persons and letters of commendation of General Secretary of the WPK Kim Jong Il on 22.

Orders and medals went to 2 389 persons.
