The statement accused the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet bellicose forces of planning to stage Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises from March 8. These war maneuvers are little different from the Team Spirit joint military exercises as they would be staged under the changed codename and they are aimed to ignite a war, to all intents and purposes.

Assuming dangerous nature, this saber-rattling is a challenge to the peace not only on the Korean Peninsula but also in Northeast Asia and other parts of the world, the statement noted, adding that it goes to prove that the "dialogue" and "peace" touted by the U.S. Administration are nothing but hypocrisy.

If the U.S. truly wishes to see the resumption of the six-party talks, it should lift the sanction against the DPRK and cancel the projected exercises, the statement noted, calling upon all the followers of the Juche idea and Songun politics and those who value independence and justice to intensify the movement for solidarity with the DPRK, the homeland of the Juche and a bulwark of socialism.
