The statement said that the March First Popular Uprising taught the truth that if the colonial rule by outside forces is not terminated, anyone cannot get rid of the lot of slavery and all the people should turn out to realize national independence.

Cherishing this truth, we will certainly frustrate the moves for reviving militarism of Japan, the sworn enemy of the Korean nation, and its ambition for staging a comeback to Korea and beat back with the concerted efforts of the fellow countrymen the U.S. imperialists who are getting hell-bent on the moves for permanent division of Korea and a nuclear war while committing all sorts of crimes against the Korean nation, the statement stressed.

It called upon the people from all walks of life to wage a dynamic movement for independent reunification under the uplifted banner of "By our nation itself".
