Story of Kim Il Sung

Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- One day in June Juche 52 (1963) President Kim Il Sung, who had always been concerned for supplying people with more eggs, asked an official to bring him chicken and duck eggs, some 200 respectively. After receiving them, he put salted water into two large porcelain pots and soaked the chicken and duck eggs separately in the water. Not aware of the President's intention, the official tried to stop him from doing such a trifling work. With a broad smile on his face, however, the President said he would do everything for the people and went on with his work. Fifteen days later the official was summoned again by the President and offered salt-cured eggs to taste. The President asked how did he like them. With him saying they tasted good, the President said that they were the eggs he preserved with salted water in the pots and that officials of poultry farming should be informed of the method. |
