Involved in the exercise staged in the Kadena U.S. air force base in Okinawa were dozens of planes including those in the base and fighter planes of the U.S. forces in their mainland and south Korea and various other parts of Japan and the "Air Self-Defense Force". This was reported to be the largest-ever held in the base.

Timed to coincide with the exercises, the Ministry of Defence newly deployed a tanker for refueling helicopters in midair in ASDF. C-130 specially improved to refuel copters in flight was deployed in the Komaki base of ASDF on Feb. 25.

These facts indicate that Japan has become all the more frantic in its moves to emerge a military giant under the signboard of "defence".

It is long since the spirit of "the Pacifist Constitution" demised in Japan. It has already acquired military potential and offensive forces as strong as military powers.

It is the view of Japan that "it suffered a defeat in the Second World War as it was weak in its force." It is, therefore, bolstering up its SDF as armed forces for overseas aggression after setting it as its policy goal and strategic line to emerge a military power.

SDF is openly making a switchover in its strategy from the "exclusive defence of Japan's proper" to "overseas attack" and the daily growing military muscle of Japan has already gone beyond the mission of "self-defence," seriously threatening the security of East Asia.

The Japanese reactionaries make no scruple of making any dangerous military collusion and nexus with aggressor forces with a view to achieving their goal of reinvasion. They are beefing up the strength of SDF for aggression by spending a stupendous amount of funds every year.

The DPRK is made the primary target of their military action for aggression.

It is the invariable ambition of Japan to launch military reinvasion of Korea and pave the way for dominating the world.

They have concentrated troops of SDF on their Western coastal area close to the Korean Peninsula under the pretext of "threat" from the DPRK, ceaselessly staging various forms of war exercises for aggression against it.

The desperate moves of the Japanese reactionaries to launch overseas aggression, oblivious of the lesson taught by the last century, are criminal acts against history as they go against the trend of independence and peace in the new century and stand in the way of social progress and development.

It is impossible to achieve global peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and the rest of Asia and the world and the horrible disasters in the last century may repeat themselves unless Japan's moves for overseas aggression are checked and frustrated.

The people of Northeast Asia and the rest of the world are called upon to heighten their vigilance against Japan's military moves.

Japan would be well advised to stop at once its moves to emerge a military power, mindful that its way of becoming a war state will lead to its final destruction.
