S. Korea: Intensified Movement for Reunification Called for

Pyongyang, March 13 (KCNA) -- The chairman of the south Korean Federation of University Students in the 21st Century, the chairman of the Students Committee of the Democratic Labor Party and representatives of other organizations in south Korea at round-table talks held in Seoul on Feb. 27 called upon all the youth and students to turn out in a more vigorous movement for national reunification on the occasion of the 10th publication anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration, aware of the duty they assumed before the times.

At the round-table talks speakers charged that the present regime totally denied the inter-Korean declarations and has pursued an anachronistic policy of confrontation with fellow countrymen, thus driving the south-north relations to a catastrophe.

The reunification of the country is the ardent desire of all the Koreans, they said, stressing that such problems concerning people's livelihood in south Korea as the settlement of the economic crisis, registration fee and unemployment of young people can be fundamentally solved only when the country is reunified.
