Displayed in the venue of the seminar were works of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il and books and photos on their undying exploits.

Attending it were the director general and the secretary general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea and the director general, the secretary general and directors of the Asian Regional Institute of the Juche Idea, the delegation of the Social Scientists Society of Korea, delegations of Juche idea study organizations in various countries and personages of different circles in India.

The DPRK ambassador to India was present on invitation.

Vishwanath, director general of the IIJI, made a keynote report to be followed by speeches of several personages under the titles "Let us uphold the banner of the Juche idea", "The ideological and theoretical foundation of the Songun politics," "Songun politics and Kim Jong Il", "Global independence and international law", "Juche idea, road to happy life" and "The Juche idea indicating the road to independence".

The reporter and speakers said that Kim Il Sung, founder of the Juche idea, demonstrated the invincible power of the Juche idea by defeating two imperialisms in one generation and built socialism centered on the popular masses guided by the Juche idea.

Noting that the idea founded by Kim Il Sung and being developed and enriched by Kim Jong Il and the spirit of self-reliance serve as guidelines for happy life, they stressed that Kim Jong Il is protecting the independent life of the Korean people by pursuing the Songun politics based on the Juche idea.

They called upon the Juche idea followers to study in depth the Juche idea and the spirit of self-reliance and put them into practice and play a vanguard role in building an independent world.

A letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted there.

The letter said that Kim Il Sung not only gave a clear definition of independence but clarified the idea that it is necessary to achieve independence in politics, self-sustenance in economy and self-reliance in national defence to put it into practice.

It stressed that if all the people work hard in the spirit of self-reliance, the global independence will be realized earlier.

The DPRK will shed its rays as a power of Juche with magnificent dignity and surely turn into a thriving reunified nation in the near future under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il, noted the letter.

The 13th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Asian Regional Institute of the Juche Idea was held in New Delhi on Mar. 12.

The meeting reviewed the two-year work done by the board of directors and discussed the issues of further enhancing the function and role of the institute and more actively conducting the study and dissemination of the Juche idea on the occasion of the centenary of Kim Il Sung's birth.

A decision was adopted at the meeting to significantly commemorate the centenary of birth of Kim Il Sung.

Harish Gupta was elected director general of the Asian Regional Institute and Mukesh Sharma its secretary general at the meeting.
