Kim Jong Il Inspects Industrial Establishments

Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il gave field guidance to the Chonma Electrical Machine Plant and the Tahungsan Machine Plant alive with a high-pitched drive for pushing back the frontiers of science. The first leg of his guidance was the Chonma Electrical Machine Plant. After being briefed on the modernization of the plant, he looked round production processes for hours to acquaint himself in detail with its technological updating and production. He highly appreciated the shining successes made by the workers of the plant, expressing great satisfaction over the fact that they have brought about a signal boost in the production of electrical machines by successfully putting the production processes on a CNC, modern and scientific basis. Looking at technologically improved machines and equipment and varieties of high precision products, he noted that the workers of the plant have brought out an eye-opening boost in production by solving many scientific and technological problems by their own efforts and with their own technology through a full display of creative wisdom and effective cooperation. He highly estimated the ardent enthusiasm with which they are waging the drive for pushing back the frontiers of science and technology, fully determined to glorify the country through an intellect campaign and technique campaign. He said that this laudable reality of the plant goes to prove that it is possible to surely attain any eminence of cutting-edge science and technology, when full play is given to the strong mental power of Kim Il Sung's nation, inexhaustible creative ingenuity and enormous technological and economic potentials. Saying that in the era in which knowledge-based economy is making rapid progress thanks to the comprehensive development of science and technology, massive accumulation of knowledge and its wide use a pioneer in pushing back the frontiers of science is a conqueror and victor of the future, he underscored the need to wage a strenuous drive to push back the frontiers of science in all sectors for building a great prosperous and powerful nation. Looking at varieties of daily necessities made by the plant through an effective use of by-products, he appreciated the high quality of products and the spirit of serving the people displayed by its workers in their persevering efforts to improve the people's standard of living. Feasting his eyes on the compound of the plant with lots of trees of various species, he said that it is a success to be proud of that the plant has established a high level of cultured practices in production and life by successfully sprucing up its interior like a palace and its exterior like a park. This is the precious fruition of love shown by the workers of the plant for plant and for the country, he added. He set forth important tasks to be fulfilled by the plant. The next leg of his guidance was the Taehungsan Machine Plant. He looked round different workshops of the plant and products there to acquaint himself in detail with its technological updating and production. Looking at lots of various type machines put on a CNC basis and quality machine products in every shop, he expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the workers and technicians of the plant have brought about a leaping advance in production by developing cutting-edge technology. He highly praised the workers of the plant for their feats, greatly pleased to learn that they have modernized it by their own efforts and with their own technology by fully displaying the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance, thus playing a pace-setter's role in pushing back the frontiers of science. Then he went round supply service facilities including a bean store to learn about the supply service for the workers. He appreciated the efforts exerted by the officials of the plant for enabling it to emerge a model plant in supply service. He advanced important tasks to be carried out by the plant. He was accompanied by Kim Phyong Hae, chief secretary of the North Phyongan Provincial Committee of the WPK, Kim Kyong Hui and Jang Song Thaek, department directors of the Central Committee of the WPK, and Ri Jae Il, first vice department director of the C. C., the WPK. |
