Present there on invitation were Chaleune Warinthrasak, Lao ambassador to the DPRK, and staff members of his embassy.

On hand were Pak Kwan O, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee of the DPRK who is chairman of the friendship association, officials concerned and working people here.

Jon Yong Jin, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries who is vice-chairman of the friendship association, addressing the meeting, said that the friendship associations have encouraged the two peoples in their struggle for socialist construction, having brisk visits, cooperation and friendship over the past 20 years.

He expressed the belief that the friendship associations would take the lead in the efforts to develop the friendly and cooperative relations in conformity with the wishes and interests of the two peoples.

The Lao ambassador in his speech noted that the friendship associations have played important roles in boosting the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries and promoted the multi-faceted cooperation in the past.

He hoped that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would steadily grow strong.

At the end of the meeting, the participants watched the Korean documentary "The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung meets with heads of state and prominent figures of different countries" Part 7.
