Magazine "Korean Information" Issued in Sweden

Pyongyang, April 2 (KCNA) -- The Sweden-Korea Friendship Association published a special issue of its magazine "Korean Information" on Mar. 26 to commemorate the Day of the Sun, the 17th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and the 78th anniversary of the foundation of the heroic Korean People's Army.

The magazine carried an editorial with a photo of President Kim Il Sung.

The editorial said:

The Day of the Sun is set for the Korean people to honor the memory of the great leader of the nation who liberated Korea from the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule and built an independent state, the first of its kind in Korea, by relying on the efforts of the people.

Today the Korean people are working hard to open the gate to a thriving nation in 2012, the centenary of birth of Kim Il Sung, guided by the Juche idea fathered by him.

One of the President's great feats is that he founded the KPA.

April 9, 1993, is the significant day when Kim Jong Il was elected as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission.

Thanks to the Songun policy pursued by Kim Jong Il, the DPRK could reliably defend its dignity and sovereignty, victoriously conclude the "Arduous March", the forced march, and ensure peace on the Korean Peninsula.

The magazine also carried an article introducing the advantages of the socialist system in the DPRK.
