Pyongyang, April 3 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Progress of south Korea made public a statement titled "Stop to the suppression of the activists for reunification" on March 30. The statement accused the security authorities of simultaneously conducting that day a search operation against the houses of former leading members of the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration in south Korea and the representative of the "Mirae" Opera Troupe under the organization on the charge of violating the "National Security Law". The statement went on: The security authorities orchestrated the case of the above-said solidarity for implementing the joint declaration and arrested many members of the solidarity and threw them behind bars as part of the suppression of the candlelight action in 2008. Not content with this, the security authorities are now stretching out their tentacles of crackdown to its former members. The suppression of the non-governmental organization for the reunification movement formed for the purpose of implementing the June 15 joint declaration on charges of "profiting the enemy" and violating the NSL disclosed the anti-reunification nature of the authorities keen to improve the south-north relations and block national reunification movement, the statement held, declaring that the solidarity would resist the authorities' suppression of the activists for the reunification movement through united actions. |
