Noting that the DPRK instituted the birth anniversary of Kim Il Sung as the Day of the Sun in July 1997, the bulletin in an article captioned "The Day of the Sun" said:

Kim Il Sung formed the Down-with-Imperialism Union on Oct. 17, 1926, and the Young Communist League of Korea on Aug. 28, 1927. He founded the Korean People's Revolutionary Army on April 25, 1932, and liberated Korea from the Japanese imperialists' occupation on Aug. 15, 1945.

He founded the party, army and state and turned Korea, once backward, into a developed industrial country.

The bulletin in an article titled "The Eternal President of the DPRK" introduced in detail the facts that a decision of the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea, the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, the Central People's Committee of the DPRK and the Administration Council of the DPRK on holding Kim Il Sung in high esteem forever was adopted and the Kumsusan Memorial Palace turned into the sacred temple of Juche in the DPRK.
