| Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- Meetings were held in Hungary and Switzerland on April 9 and 10 on the occasions of the Day of the Sun, the 17th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and the 78th birthday of the heroic Korean People's Army. On display in the venues of meetings were photos on the undying feats performed by President Speeches were made there. The chairman of the Hungarian Communist Workers' Party noted that Kim Il Sung made distinguished contributions to the Korean revolution and global independence. Kim Il Sung wisely led the protracted anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, liberating the country, and founded the Party, army and state and steered the great Fatherland Liberation War to victory, he said, adding: The Korean people built an independent national economy by their own efforts under the wise leadership of Kim Il Sung and achieved great successes in all fields of social life. The chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee emphasized that the glorious revolutionary life of Kim Il Sung was a life based on the faith that the nation's sovereignty is achieved and protected with arms. He said that Kim Jong Il is successfully carrying forward the Songun revolutionary cause pioneered by Kim Il Sung. Messages to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the meetings. |
