Performances of Overseas Koreans Enjoy Popularity
Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- Performances of overseas Koreans participating in the Second April Spring People's Art Festival going on in Pyongyang to mark the Day of the Sun, the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung, are highly acclaimed by audience.

The venue of the performance of the art troupes of Koreans in China and the International United Confederation of Koreans (International Kothongryon) is crowded with Pyongyangites.

The art troupe of the Koreans in China including Choe Kyong Ho, 47, and other talented actors and actresses put on the stage a colorful program reflecting deep reverence for the President.

Son Myong Chan, 26, a student of Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry, told KCNA that he, seeing the male solo "Cantata to Marshal Kim Il Sung" and mixed duo "When We Walk along the Road between Fields", felt overseas Korean artistes' profound respect for the President.

Choe Su Bong, 51, head of the art troupe of Koreans in China, said he was very glad to join people of the homeland in the festival and expressed his determination to present better works to the festival in the future.

"Frostwork in the Native Place" and other female group dances performed by the International Kothongryon show well their pride of being members of the dignified Korean nation to be enthusiastically applauded by audience.

Kim Mi Suk, 26, head of the art troupe of the International Kothongryon, who learned dancing in Pyongyang, said she would teach Korean dances to overseas compatriots and contribute to further developing them.

Art troupes of Koreans in Japan and the United States are also participating in the festival.
