Members of art groups of various factories, enterprises and cooperative farms and members of art squads and itinerant art agitation squads put on the stage chorus "Song of Loyalty", agitation and song "Long Live Generalissimo Kim Il Sung", dialogic poem "Vinalon of the General", small chorus "Eternal Spring of the Sun" and poem and chorus "Push Back the Frontiers of Latest Science" and other colorful numbers of diverse genres.

The performers enthusiastically sang of the immortal feats of President Kim Il Sung to shine forever and the happiness of the Korean people who fully enjoy an independent and creative life in the socialist country of Juche and successfully represented the revolutionary spirit and strong will of the servicepersons and people of the DPRK to dash ahead like the wind toward the eminence of a great prosperous and powerful nation.

They, at the same time, powerfully demonstrated the might of the rapidly developing mass culture and arts in the era of Songun through the performance pervaded with revolutionary enthusiasm and rich emotion.

After the performance was over, Kim Jong Il waved back to the enthusiastically cheering performers and audience and congratulated the performers on their successful performance.

Expressing great satisfaction with the fact that the performers gave a splendid performance rich in ideological contents and high in artistry as it was distinct in the policy stand and fully reflected the requirements of the times and the desire of the people, he highly appreciated the success made in the presentation and extended thanks to them.

All the groups of participants staged peculiar numbers truthfully representing their efforts and life, he said, adding that this clearly proves the validity and vitality of the WPK's policy on popularizing arts.

Noting that the festival proved to be a significant festival at which the ardent desire of the service persons and people to hold the President in high esteem as the eternal sun of Juche for all ages turned into all people's songs in praise of him and marked a meaningful occasion in instilling inexhaustible strength and courage into all of them, he extended a warm salute to all the participants in the festival who have made a great contribution to adorning the April spring holiday in a peculiar manner with songs of the leader, revolutionary songs.

Under the socialist system in the DPRK where the working people have become creators and enjoyers of true arts genuine arts can be found in the struggle and life of the popular masses and revolutionary arts have become a powerful means for powerfully encouraging them in their revolutionary struggle by emotionally impressing them and enlisting their mental power, he noted, setting forth important tasks which would serve as guidelines for developing mass culture and arts.

Among the audience were KPA Vice Marshal Kim Yong Chun, vice-chairman of the NDC of the DPRK and minister of the People's Armed Forces, KPA General Kim Jong Gak, member of the NDC of the DPRK and first vice-director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, and other commanding officers of the KPA and armed forces organs, Secretaries Choe Thae Bok and Kim Ki Nam and Department Directors Kim Kyong Hui, Jang Song Thaek, Kim Yong Il and Kim Yang Gon and other leading officials of the WPK Central Committee.
