During the festival artistes of art organizations here and local areas, members of art squads and itinerant art squads, people from all walks of life and overseas Korean artistes gave a total of at least 100 performances and agitations for increased production.

They were appreciated by senior Party, army and state officials, over 230,000 officials, servicepersons of the Korean People's Army, people from all walks of life and youth and students.

Present at the closing ceremony were Yang Hyong Sop, Kim Jung Rin and Kim Ki Nam, officials concerned, artistes and working people.

Special prizes were awarded to organizations which distinguished themselves in creating stage arts and mass cultural and art activities at the ceremony.

Results of examination on the national festival among professional artistes, the national festivals among art squads and itinerant art squads and the national art festival of working people were published and prizes were awarded.

A letter to General Secretary Kim Jong Il was adopted at the ceremony.

A closing speech was made by An Tong Chun, minister of Culture who is chairman of the Organizing Committee of the festival.

Then a combined song and dance performance was given by the successful organizations at the festival.
