The speakers at the press conference accused the authorities of intensifying the suppression of the Teachers' Union after labeling its movement for issuing a declaration on the situation as "political activities" and branding the Government Employees' Union as an "illegal organization".

The authorities' ceaseless suppression is aimed at liquidating the leading organizations under the confederation in a bid to stamp out the labor movement, they held.

A press release read out at the press conference declared that the organization would respond to dialogue with dialogue and react to the suppression with struggle.

The "government" and the management side will face an all-out struggle of the workers including a general strike unless they respond to dialogue till April 25, it warned.
