Recalling Kim Jong Il's saying, "Our building of the country into an economic giant is aimed, to all intents and purposes, at radically improving the people's standard of living. When the people's livelihood is decisively improved, hooray for socialism and singing of Arirang of prosperity can ring out louder across the country and the gate to a thriving nation be opened," the statement said that this aphorism is evoking their sympathy.

It expressed belief that the DPRK, turned into a powerful political and military power admired by the whole world under the Songun politics, would emerge an economic power in the near future and achieve national reunification without fail.

Wishing the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people great successes in their efforts to surely open the gate to a thriving nation by 2012 and reunify the country in the spirit of "By our nation itself", the statement reaffirmed their full support and solidarity with the Korean people's struggle.
