The statement said that the April 19 Uprising which brought down the Syngman Rhee dictatorial regime by force of people 50 years ago clearly showed what miserable end the ruling quarters met while seeking to turn back the clock of history in disregard of the people's will.

History has advanced thanks to the struggle of the people aspiring after progress and the above-said uprising was also an expression of the ardent desire of the people for democracy, stable livelihood of people and independent national reunification, the statement noted, calling on all the people to go united in the dynamic actions for punishing the present regime by carrying forward the spirit of the April 19 uprising.
