Speakers at the meeting accused some ultra right-wing conservative forces of using the sinking of warship "Chonan" for escalating the confrontation between the south and the north and straining the situation on the Korean Peninsula.

Charging that the authorities have blocked even the tour of Mt. Kumgang by pursuing the policy of confrontation with the DPRK, they urged "Chongwadae" to stop its anti-reunification campaign and opt for implementing the June 15 joint declaration.

Deploring that the present situation reminds one of the period of the past dictatorial regime, they called for judging the authorities by force of people for having driven the inter-Korean relations to catastrophe and dampened the anti-"government" spirit through suppression while advocating confrontation and war.
