DPRK's Important Days Observed

Pyongyang, April 26 (KCNA) -- A Kimjongilia exhibition and a book, photo and handicraft exhibition took place in China and meetings and photo exhibitions in Romania, Bulgaria and Denmark between April 8 and 14 to commemorate the Day of the Sun, the 17th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and the 78th birthday of the Korean People's Army. On display in their venues were books and photos introducing the revolutionary career and exploits of President Kim Il Sung and the Songun revolutionary leadership exploits of Kim Jong Il and potted immortal Kimjongilias and Korean craftworks. Speeches were made at the events. Noting that Kim Il Sung founded the immortal Juche idea, the Songun idea, and performed undying feats for the Korean revolution and global independence, the chairman of the Romanian Socialist Union said that the President is always alive in the hearts of not only the Korean people but also the world's progressives. The honorary chairman of the Bulgarian Communists Union said that Kim Il Sung defeated two imperialisms in one generation and turned the DPRK into the best socialist state centered on the popular masses. And he noted that the KPA has grown to be a matchlessly strong army protecting the gains of the revolution and reliably defending the security of the country and the people under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il. The chairman of the Danish preparatory committee for commemorating the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung stressed that the President is the greatest man who is deeply revered as the most prominent statesman in the 20th century by not only the Korean people but the world progressives for his undying feats. Meanwhile, meetings, round-table talks, lectures, photo exhibitions and film shows were held in Russia, Sweden, Guinea, Iran and Peru between April 6 and 12 to commemorate the Day of the Sun. Letters and messages to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the events in Bulgaria, Denmark and Peru. |
