Presented to the festival to be held divided into 21 sections were more than 670 pieces of scientific research achievements and technical innovation proposals made in various fields of the national economy.

Present there were Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea Choe Thae Bok, Vice-Premier of the Cabinet O Su Yong, Minister of Education Kim Yong Jin, President of the State Academy of Sciences Jang Chol, officials concerned and scientists, technicians and working people who were highly appreciated at the local festivals of science and technology.

Ri Ja Bang, chairman of the State Scientific and Technological Commission and chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea, made an opening address.
