The general secretary of the Central Committee of the Unified Communist Party of Italy said in a report at a seminar that Kim Il Sung, eternal president of the DPRK, was a peerlessly elder statesman who made an immortal contribution to the human cause of independence with his distinguished leadership.

The general secretary recalled that the President received a great many political and public figures in his whole lifetime and gave lucid answers to the problems concerning the events that took place in the international arena and political issues, clearly indicating the way to be followed by humankind.

Meanwhile, film shows and photo exhibitions were held in Cuba, Russia, Germany, Finland, Malaysia, Laos, Singapore, South Africa and Nigeria between April 7 and 19 on the occasions of the Day of the Sun, the 17th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and the 78th birthday of the Korean People's Army.

Displayed in their venues were photos on the revolutionary careers of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and their undying feats.

Participants in the film shows watched the Korean films "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation" and "Korean People's Army, Steel-Strong Ranks".
