Present there were Ho Jong Man, chief vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), and other officials and educational workers of Chongryon.

Ho Jong Man said in his report that President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il regarded national education as the lifeline of the movement of Koreans in Japan and made tireless efforts for the development of national education of Chongryon.

The Chongryon organization and the patriotic movement today would be unthinkable without national education which has a well-regulated system from primary schools to a university under the profound loving care of the President and Kim Jong Il, he said, and continued:

In order to usher in a new heyday in the movement of Koreans in Japan in 2012 marking the centenary of birth of the President, all the officials of Chongryon should preserve and develop in practice the national education, the starting-point in the organizational construction and patriotic activities, bearing the idea and intention of Kim Jong Il deep in their minds.

The speakers declared they would strive to make a breakthrough towards ushering in a new heyday in the national education, to begin with, keeping pace with the people in the homeland performing heroic feats in the building of a thriving nation.
