The south Korean conservative group including the puppet Ministry of Unification disallowed the south side delegation's participation in the event just before the working contact in Kaesong between workers' organizations of the north and the south aimed at finally examining the preparations for the event, whiling away time under the unreasonable pretext of "people's sentiment" and thereby torpedoing the event, the statement said, and went on:

The above-said action taken by the puppet group is a blatant challenge to the unanimous aspiration and desire of the workers and all other fellow countrymen for national reconciliation, unity and reunification and another treacherous anti-reunification provocation to overturn the June 15 joint declaration.

The group of traitors scuttled the event because it was afraid of the meeting of workers in the north and the south strongly desirous of reunification and felt fearful of the mindset of the south Korean people to judge its acts of treachery.

The reality proves once again that democracy of the south Korean society, national concord and independent reunification can never be achieved but only storms of confrontation and war will rage on this land as long as the puppet conservative group is allowed to desperately pursue confrontation with fellow countrymen, paying no heed to the mindset of the people.

The reunification event has been torpedoed due to the unreasonable obstructions of the south Korean conservative group but with nothing can it break the firm will of all the fellow countrymen to implement the historic June 15 joint declaration, meet the challenge of the anti-reunification forces and achieve independent reunification, peace and prosperity.
