New Phase for Independent Reunification Called for

Pyongyang, April 30 (KCNA) -- The Action Headquarters of the south Korean Federation of University Student Councils, in a statement issued on April 25 on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of its formation, declared that it would come out in a dynamic nationwide movement for bringing about a new phase for independent reunification this year, the 10th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 joint declaration.

The statement referred to the fact that the federation has invariably covered the road of independent reunification and the democratization of society up to this date since its formation.

The fascist authorities are getting evermore frantic with suppression, arresting and detaining youth and students including former leading members of the said federation, who staged actions for independence, democracy and reunification, in a bid to get rid of their crisis, but this will get them nowhere, the statement noted.

It called upon all the members of the organization to turn out in the struggle to get the "National Security Law", the fascist law, repealed.
