Mangyongdae Prize Sports Contest Closes

| Pyongyang, April 30 (KCNA) -- The Mangyongdae Prize sports contest which opened on April 7 on the occasion of the Day of the Sun closed with due ceremony at the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street Friday. New national records were set in seven events of weightlifting and field and track. Players of the April 25 Sports Team came first in football (women), basketball (men and women), volleyball (men and women), table tennis (men's team) and handball (women) matches while those of the Rimyongsu Sports Team placed first in football (men) and table tennis (women's team) games. Men players of the Kigwancha Sports Team placed first in baseball, those of the Ryongnamsan Sports Team in handball, women players of the Pyongyang Moranbong Sports Team in softball, men players of the Paekmasan Sports Team and women players of the Jangsan Sports Team came first in short-track speed skating. |
