They were attended by members of the south Korean Democratic Alliance for Reunification in Japan (Hanthongryon), the south Korean Youth League in Japan (Hanchong), the south Korean Democratic Women's Society in Japan and the south Korean Students Council for National Reunification in Japan and other Koreans in Japan.

Speakers at the meetings referred to the historic significance of the uprising.

They charged that the present regime in south Korea is intensifying the fascist suppression of people from all walks of life, defiling the spirit of the participants in the April 19 uprising who fought for independence, democracy and reunification and, at the same time, unreasonably cracking down upon Hanthongryon and Hanchong, organizations of Koreans in Japan.

The Koreans in Japan will wage a more dynamic struggle to foil the south Korean authorities' crackdown and put an end to the U.S. domination and interference in south Korea, they declared.

At the end of the meetings, the participants conducted a signature campaign for peace in Northeast Asia.
