S. Korea Urged to Behave Itself
Pyongyang, May 4 (KCNA) -- The south Korean conservative group blustered that it would take "a countermeasure" if the north side did not "retract" its measure for freezing the real estates of the south side in the Mt. Kumgang Tourist Zone. As if it were not enough with this, it made no scruple of staging north-targeted "joint live shell firing exercises" with the U.S. forces near the Military Demarcation Line on the Day of the Sun, while crying out for "not ruling out a war".

In this regard Minju Joson Tuesday says in a signed commentary:

The south Korean conservative group is entirely to blame for the present tragic situation where the north side was compelled to confiscate the south side's real estates which had been frozen in the tourist zone and freeze the remaining real estates, thus making it impossible for south Koreans to tour the famous mountain of the nation.

Had the south Korean authorities lent an ear to the north's warnings and shown even the least concern for the resumption of the tour of Mt. Kumgang, the situation would not have reached such a serious phase.

The conservative group, however, is letting loose such outbursts that it would announce "a countermeasure" early in May and is talking about the "examination of the way of tightening financial resources", etc., while shelving its crimes.

This proves that the group has not yet come to its senses, unaware of who its rival is.

It goes without saying that it would be impossible to settle the issue of the resumption of the tour of Mt. Kumgang nor is it possible to improve the north-south relations as long as the group is allowed to stay in power.

The conservative group should come to its senses and behave with discretion, though belatedly. If it continues deteriorating the situation, hell-bent on the moves for escalating confrontation with the DPRK as it does now, the DPRK will take more strong punitive measures just as it had already clarified.
