University Teachers Active in Developing New Technologies
Pyongyang, May 4 (KCNA) -- University teachers and researchers of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea are playing a big role in introducing new technologies into economic sectors.

Those from Kim Il Sung University, together with technicians and workers of the Chollima Steel Complex, successfully applied CNC technology to a 10,000-ton press in a short span of time to reduce the forging time and power consumption by half and considerably enhance the precision of forgings.

They also developed software needed for supplying the UHP electric arc furnace with energy on a normal basis.

Researchers of Kim Chaek University of Technology established an electric power management system and a remote control system of electric frequency at the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex. They also employed a monitoring system in production processes.

Those from the Robotics Institute of the university put the profiler of the Sinuiju Spinning Machine Plant on a CNC basis and completed technical preparations for applying CNC technology to equipment of the Rakwon Machine Complex and the Pyongyang Textile Machine Plant.

Teachers and researchers from the Chongjin University of Mining and Metallurgy have paved a way of putting the finish rolling process of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex on a CNC basis.

Researchers of Sariwon University of Geology who went to the Komdok Mining Complex applied IT to technical management and put the design and development of pits on a scientific basis. They also introduced a ground pressure measuring program, thus making it possible to take proper steps against it.
