River Taedong Decked with Fountains
|
|
Pyongyang, May 14 (KCNA) -- Fountains have appeared in the River Taedong flowing through Pyongyang, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. When darkness sets in, the fountains begin to play, presenting kaleidoscope scenes, to the tune of folk songs and waltz. They jet water high or in different directions, reminding one of flying butterfly and dove or swaying azalea petal. Seen in the projection screen formed in the air by the squirt of water are an artificial satellite being launched and CNC machine tools being mass-produced as well as inscriptions including "Juche iron", "Huichon Speed" and "Cutting edge". The river banks close to the fountains are inundated with people in the evening to enjoy the fountain display. |
